Five people were detained in Irbid for defense order violations regarding home quarantine, announced the Public Security Directorate (PSD) Friday. These individuals did not abide by home isolation measures, after testing positive for COVID-19.

The National Center for Security and Crisis Management said defense laws impose fines between JD 500 and JD 1,000 on those who commit violations for the first time, and imprisonment for up to one year, a fine between JD 1,000 and JD 3,000 or both for repeated violations.

He stressed that all the relevant authorities continue to conduct inspections to ensure compliance with home quarantine measures. The local authorities are also prepared to provide assistance if required. He call on COVID-19 patients to adhere to health and safety measures.
