The Head of the Coronavirus Portfolio Wael Al Hayajneh confirmed Saturday that the Ministry of Health field hospitals may strategically aid ministry health facilities post pandemic.

Hayajneh told Roya during his visit to the field hospital in Irbid that the hospitals which are built with a capacity of more than 1,000 beds would be a strategic addition and may turn into specialized medical centers or clinics, or be transferred to other areas if required.

The director of the field hospital Imad Abu Al-Yaqin suggested that the COVID-19 hospital would start treating patients in the coming weeks.

In an interview with Roya, Abu Al-Yaqin indicated that the field hospital has an area of 4,650 square meters and will contain 300 beds, including 50 ICU beds.
