Palestine records 16 deaths and 2,188 new coronavirus cases

Palestine recorded 16 deaths and 2,188 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaileh Wednesday.

The new deaths involved nine in the West Bank, and seven in Gaza Strip. The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 76.6 percent, while the active case rate is 22.5 percent and the death rate is 0.9 percent.

The new coronavirus cases include 224 in Hebron; 321 in Nablus; 200 in Bethlehem; 70 in Qalqilya; 174 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 151 in Jenin; 16 in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; 97 in Salfit; 94 in Tulkarem; 36 in Tubas; 735 in Gaza Strip; and 70 in the suburbs of Occupied Jerusalem.

The recovery cases include 139 in Hebron; 81 in Jenin; 127 in Nablus; 45 in Tulkarem; 140 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 71 in Tubas; 49 in Salfit; 11 in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 33 in Qalqilya; and 335 in Gaza Strip.

Currently, 67 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 14 are on ventilators.
