Five deaths and 719 new COVID-19 cases in Palestine

Palestine has recorded five deaths and 719 new COVID-19 cases, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kileh Thursday.

In the West Bank, 3 deaths were reported; (81-year-old woman in Nablus, 47-year-old woman in Tulkarem, 86-year-old man in Hebron), one death in the Gaza Strip of a 59-year-old man and one death in Jerusalem.

The recovery rate stands at 88.30 percent, while the active cases rate is 10.9 percent and the death rate is 0.8 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 42 in Hebron; 125 in Nablus; 88 in Bethlehem; 21 in Qalqilya; 57 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 20 in Jenin; 13 in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; four in Salfit; 17 in Tulkarem; one in Tubas; 311 in Gaza Strip; 20 in the suburbs of Jerusalem.

A total of 657 recovery cases have been recorded involving 48 in Hebron; 134 in Nablus; 36 in Jenin; 21 in Tulkarem; nine in Qalqilya; four in Tubas; six in Salfit; 95 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 282 in Gaza Strip and 22 in Jerusalem City.

Currently, 40 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 11 are on ventilators.

A total of 4,593 PCR tests have been conducted.
