Infectious Disease Consultant, Dirar Balawi, called on the Ministry of Environment and Greater Amman Municipality to work together on managing coronavirus patients' waste the correct way.

COVID-19 patients' trash should be placed in a seperate bag and disinfected before thrown in the dumpster, he added.

Balawi called on the municipality to provide red-coloured trash bags for coronavirus patients.

He also asked citizens to damage used gloves and facemasks to prevent other people from reusing them.

This came after a large number of citizens requested guidance from the government regarding the correct way  to dispose of trash in houses where COVID-19 patients live.

Coronavirus patients' waste is dangerous and could result in further spreading of the virus, he said.
