Jordan brings back 14-day home-quarantine for those arriving from red countries

The government has decided to bring back home-quarantine for those arriving from red countries for a period of 14 days. They will also be tested for COVID-19 on the seventh and 14th days.

However, those coming from green and yellow countries must self-isolate at home for a period of seven days.

A new classification for green, yellow and red countries has been issued by the government on Wednesday. 

Countries are classified into three categories which are red, yellow and green - depending on the scale of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The green countries are:

Tunisia, Algeria, Turkey, Thailand, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Cyprus, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Lithuania, Italy, Malaysia, Austria, and Canada.

The yellow countries are:

Morocco, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, Malta, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Switzerland

The red countries are:

Bahrain, Iraq, the Israeli Occupation, Lebanon, Kuwait, Libya, the Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, Romania, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Russia, Spain, Ukraine, France, and the United States.

Jordan has resumed commercial flights on Tuesday, September 8, for the first time since March 17.
