The government is discussing the option of switching to distance learning, after a number of COVID-19 cases were recorded among teachers and students in some schools in Jordan, a source told Roya.

The option of distance learning is under discussion, but in a different way, as it will leave the choice to the students' parents, to either send their children to schools or to move to distance learning, the source added.

Attendance inside the classroom will not change in terms of teaching staff presence, as the option of learning in school will remain available.

However, school attendance in areas with a high number of coronavirus infections might be suspended by the government.

In addition, a number of private and public schools will move to distance learning for a period of 14 days, announced the Ministry of Education on Sunday.
