Ramtha has been stocked up with enough amounts of flour in preparation for the partial lockdown, said the director of Industry and Trade in Irbid Governorate, Abdul Halim al-Jamra, on Monday.

He added, people in Ramtha will be granted permits to enter the district for the purpose of supplying food, medicine and energy.

The decision to isolate Ramtha district will start today at 8pm after it has been continuously recording local COVID-19 cases.

Irbid’s governor, Radwan Atoum, announced new mechanisms for granting permits to people in Ramtha which include, granting permits for humanitarian cases, specially for people who need medical care.

New mechanisms also include, police being deployed at six closure points and isolating the district from all crossing borders, he added.

All transportations that connect Ramtha with Irbid Governorate and the rest of the governorates, will be completely stopped, the Land Transport Sector Regulatory Commission announced.
