A Jordanian citizen was shot and injured by Israeli army on Wednesday dawn after he crossed the Kingdom's borders with the Israeli occupation near Al-Baqoura in the northern region, an official government source announced.

The source said the government and concerned agencies are following up on the incident through official and diplomatic channels.

According to preliminary investigations, the man, 49, infiltrated the borders into the Israeli occupations lands with the aim of smuggling, the source said.

It added that the man is currently in Israeli custody.
