The Mafraq Governor, Yasser Edwan, decided on Thursday evening, May 7, to isolate Al-Basiliyyah municipality in Mafraq governorate from the rest of the regions in the governorate, after 16 coronavirus cases were recorded as they were in contact with the infected truck driver.

Edwan added that this measure aims to expand the epidemiological inspection in those areas in order to prevent the epidemic from spreading in the rest of the regions.

He indicated that the Al-Basiliyyah municipality includes the areas of Al-Khanaseri, Faa'a, Braiqa and Al-Haras.
