During a special interview on Roya's "Nabd Al Balad" program, Dr. Montaser Al-Belbisi, a microbial infections specialist, confirmed that the flu spread in Jordan has nothing to do with H1N1 "Swine Flu", noting that the flu is "seasonal" and can be transmitted from one person to another.

"This type of flu usually spreads at the beginning of each winter season," he stressed.

Belbisi said that such type of flu may be transmitted to the elderly and pregnant women.

For his part, head of the Jordanian Public Health Association, Dr. Bassam Al-Hijjawi also emphasized that the flu is seasonal.

The medication for this flu is available in Jordan, Hijjawi said, pointing out that it affects people whose immunity is greatly reduced.

He stressed that influenza currently spread in the Kingdom is not an "epidemic".
