Jordan's tourism revenues during the first third of 2019 rose by 6.1% to reach $1.7billion (around JD1.2 billion), compared to $1.6 billion generated during the same period last year, official data revealed.

According to the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ), the total of expatriate remittances rose by 1.6% at the end of April 2019 to reach $1.202 million, approximately JD 851, compared to $1.182 million for the same period of 2019.

Jordanian expatriates’ remittances, tourism revenues, alongside commodity and service exports are key factors that enhance payments of balance and boost foreign currency reserves of the country.
