The Egyptian Embassy in Amman has called on its nationals who are at the age of military conscription and residing in Jordan to visit the embassy between the 9-21 March.
In Egypt, military service is mandatory for men 18-30 years of age for one to three years, depending on their education.
In a statement released on Thursday, those nationals were urged to visit the embassy in order to sign off paperwork that might or might not exempt them from military service.
According to GlobalSecurity.org, “Conscripts may be required to serve either in the police force, the prison-guard service, or in one of the military economic service units.”
