In the early hours of Saturday morning the Ministry of Education released the 2018 winter session results of the General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi).

The Minister of Education, Omar Razzaz, is scheduled to hold a press conference to officially announce the results on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 10:30 am at the Queen Rania Al Abdullah Educational Technology Center. He will also announce the names of the top achievers in all academic and vocational streams.

This year’s results differ from previous editions as several modifications were introduced such as decreasing the passing percentage to 40 and changing the grading system to total 1400 points for 9 subjects. According to Razzaz the changes improve the processes of education and examination.

The exams were conducted in the period January 07-23, 2018 in the approximately 1581 halls of the 552 schools allocated for the exam in all the regions of the Kingdom.

A total of 175,947 individuals have been registered for the 2018 winter session in all study streams. This includes 85,979 students who were retaking the exam and 89,968 first timers.
