Governorate councils across the Kingdom on Wednesday elected their presidents and deputies, in line with Article 12/A/1 of the 2015 Decentralization Law No. 49.

The elections, held every two years, are part of the local administration laws. Voter turnout was high across all 12 councils in Jordan.

The election took place in the capital, Amman, at the Al Hussein Cultural Center, with all voting halls electronically linked to the Ministry of Local Administration, and the results were announced on the same day.

The Ministry confirmed elections occurred in several key locations, including the councils of Madaba, Karak, Ma'an, Balqa, Jerash, Irbid, Tafilah, the Ajloun Cultural Center, the Aqaba Governorate building, the Zarqa Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Mafraq Municipality.
