5,100 tons of aid sent by Jordan to Gaza

The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) announced today, Thursday, that Jordan has sent around 5,100 tons of aid to the people in the Gaza Strip since October, 2023.

JHCO’s Secretary-General, Dr. Hussein Al-Shibli, stated that the aid included food, relief, medical, and pharmaceutical supplies. The aid was transported via air and land bridges through 49 aircraft (including 11 air drops), with a total payload reaching 719.77 tons of materials, while Jordan deployed 325 ground trucks with a total payload of 4376.47 tons.

Al-Shibli emphasized that this aid was transported to the people in the Gaza Strip in coordination and cooperation with the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and several international and regional partner organizations.

He noted that the last two planes departed the kingdom yesterday, Wednesday. The JHCO, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, and the JAF, sent two humanitarian aid planes carrying 23 tons of medical and health supplies in cooperation with the Human Appeal organization - Britain.

Al-Shibli reiterated that Jordan will continue to fulfill its duty towards its brethren in the Gaza Strip and provide what is necessary under the direct directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II.
