The incidence rate for all types of cancer among Jordanians has reached 99.4 per 100,000, emphasizing the need for concerted efforts to combat this malignant disease. Medical estimates indicate around 1,400 new cases of breast cancer are reported annually in Jordan.

Addressing this formidable challenge, numerous healthcare institutions are actively engaged in awareness campaigns promoting early detection, which significantly increases the chances of survival.

The Director of King Abdullah University Hospital, Dr. Khaldoun Al Bashaireh, revealed that the hospital provides treatment for approximately 500 cases of breast cancer, with male patients constituting only 1 to 2 percent.

The Director of the Jordan Breast Cancer Program, Dr. Reema Al Ajlouni, emphasized that awareness campaigns have contributed to a higher number of individuals seeking early screenings for breast cancer, one of the most prevalent forms of cancer among women.

These screenings play a crucial role in assessing the extent of the issue and providing effective solutions. Time is of the essence in the fight against cancer and increasing chances of survival, she added.
