The Public Security Directorate (PSD) stressed the need to be careful during the upcoming heatwave and expected to start affecting the Kingdom Friday.

The Directorate stressed the need to adhere to the following instructions to avoid heat exhaustion and sunstrokes.
1- Avoid direct exposure to sunlight at peak times, especially in the desert, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba.
2- Drinking adequate amounts of fluids, especially water, as well as wearing light and loose clothing.
3- Wearing protective head coverings and taking a break at noon, especially for people whose work requires spending time outdoors under direct sunlight.
4- Keep an eye on children and make sure they do not spend long periods of time in the sun.
5- Never leave children unattended in vehicles. Avoid leaving sterilizers, perfumes, and similar flammable materials inside vehicles.
6- Do not overload electric sockets beyond their capacity by operating air conditioners and fans.
7- Stay away from lands with overgrown grass, dense shrubs, or weeds where reptiles, such as scorpions and snakes, could be found.
8- Avoid lighting fires in forested and grassy areas to avoid losing control of them.
9- Not to hesitate to call 911 in emergency cases.
