Wednesday, 34 people were killed and 12 others were injured in a traffic accident in the state of Tamanrasse, southern Algeria.

The incident occurred when a vehicle collided with a passenger bus and the collision resulted in a fire, further exacerbating the severity of the accident.

A video clip surfaced, capturing the moment both vehicles were engulfed in flames, and shocking images of the incident were widely shared on social media by concerned activists and passersby.

As reported in the weekly civil protection services report Tuesday, Algeria witnessed a total of 1,359 traffic accidents between July 9 and 15, resulting in 42 fatalities and 1,697 injuries of varying degrees in several provinces across the country.
