The Senate issued a statement, on Friday, mourning the death of Colonel Abdel-Razzaq Abdel-Hafez Al-Dalabeh, Deputy Director of Ma’an Police.

"Al-Dalabeh was martyred by the bullets of sinful treachery, after he was wounded by a bullet to the head, at a time when he, may God have mercy on him, was seeking to save lives as well as public and private property from tampering and vandalism while dealing with riots in the Husseiniya area in Ma'an Governorate,” the statement read.

It added, "We must strike with an iron fist against anyone who tries to stir up riots, sabotage, attack the rule of law, and threaten the security of the homeland and citizens."
