Friday, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing dealt with large amounts of sand gathering on a number of roads across the Kingdom resulting in road closures. This happened as a result of extremely stong winds, dust and unstable weather conditions in Jordan.
The ministry issued a press statement saying that the Minister of Public Works and Housing Yahya al-Kasabi instructed the relevent authorities to increase field visits and follow up with citizens to quickly respond to complaints.
The ministry called on drivers heading to the country's main highways to be careful due to limited visibility because of dust and strong winds, especially in Ma'an (the Desert Highway) and Aqaba.
