The number of vehicles exported from the Free Zone in Zarqa to other countries as of the beginning of 2019, exceeded those imported into the domestic market, according to statistics published by the Jordan Free Zone Investors Commission (JFZIC).

Figures showed that 10.3 thousand vehicles were exported from the Free Zone during the first two months of 2019, down less than 1% when compared with the same period last year.

However, about 3800 vehicles have been cleared from the local market since the beginning of this year.

Vehicles running on gasoline were the most wanted type by traders, as about 2121 gasoline cars have been imported, registering a decline by 43% when compared to the same period last year.

Electric cars were the second most wanted type of cars, with 1127 vehicles sold out in the first two months of this year and a decline by 85% in comparison with the same period last year.

When it came to the local market, 522 hybrid cars have been imported since the beginning of 2019 and until the end of February 2019, registering a decline by 81% over the same period last year.
