Jordan is participating in the 13th conference on Border Control, Airport and Seaport Security (BCASS) from 19-20 September, 2018, which is being held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers in Tunisia, Petra news agency reported.

The two-day conference brings together regional and international delegates from the Ministries of Defense, Ministries of Interior, Immigration and Law Enforcement Officers, Security Officials from Airport and Aviation Authorities, Officials from Border Management Agencies, Consular Missions and Intelligence Officers, Private Security Professionals, Airport Security Design Experts and Solution Providers.

On the conference’s agenda this year is finding strategies to combat piracy crimes on ships and the integration of modern technologies into border, airports and ports security.

Aqaba is Jordan’s only coastal city and its port is the Kingdom’s sole marine outlet. The port is owned by the Aqaba Development Corporation and has 12 terminals operated by five operators.

Meanwhile, the Kingdom has three airports - two in Amman and one in Aqaba - and shares international borders with four sovereign states.
