The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) launched a campaign under the King’s directive to collect donations to help the Muslim Rohingyas of Myanmar.

The campaign, which was announced at a JHCO press conference today, was in the works since September 26, with the help of humanitarian workers around the world.

Donations will be received by the JHCO through a bank account or through crash at designated locations which will be announced at a later date.

The bank account number for the donations is the JHCO’s bank account at at the Jordan Islamic Bank: 49992.

Ayman Al Muflih, Chairman of the JHCO, said “it is every Jordanian’s duty to aid the oppressed,” adding that a certain percentage of the donations will be set aside for impoverished Jordanian families.

The Rohingyas are Muslim minority living in the Rakhine state of Myamnar, where they face government-sanctioned persecution, leading to hundreds of thousands of Rohingyas to escape Burma to nearby countries.
