The American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) welcomed on Monday a five-year-old patient from Gaza, funded by the Ghassan Abu Sittah Children’s Fund.

The boy is the very first patient to arrive in Lebanon from Gaza since October 7.

AUB President Fadlo Khuri posted on X, “He is to receive medical treatment for extensive injuries inflicted during the ongoing Israeli military's mass and indiscriminate targeting of civilians in the strip."

"We are grateful to the Ghassan Abu Sittah Children’s Fund and the Palestine Children's Relief Fund for their commitment to the treatment of this important initiative,” continued Khuri.

The Ghassan Abu Sittah Children’s Fund is dedicated to the children of Gaza. The fund focuses on the transportation of critically injured children with their caretakers from Palestine to Lebanon, where they can receive the best possible medical, psychological, and social care, before returning home to Palestine where they will continue their recovery.
