“Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today that they are not ready to “replace Hamastan with Fatahstan”, in response to defense minister Yoav Gallant’s earlier comments, where he opposed any military or civilian responsibility for governance of the Gaza Strip.

“The first condition for the day-after [in Gaza] is to eliminate Hamas and do it without excuses,” Netanyahu said.

“After the terrible massacre of October 7, I ordered the destruction of Hamas. The soldiers of the IDF and the security forces are fighting for this.”

“As long as Hamas remains intact, no other entity will step in to manage Gaza civilians, certainly not the Palestinian Authority,” he declared.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said he demanded to find an alternative to Hamas for power, but that he “didn’t receive any responses.”

"I repeat and make it clear: I will not agree to the establishment of an Israeli military administration in Gaza; Israel must not have civilian control over the Gaza Strip,” he added.
