His Majesty King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, during a meeting attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein at Basman Palace, stress the need to reach a humanitarian truce and a ceasefire in Gaza as soon as possible

The leaders stressed the importance of continuing efforts to open land crossings and removing all obstacles to urgently deliver humanitarian aid to all parts of the Gaza Strip.

Both leaders, with the attendance of Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, highlighted that the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip requires immediate action by the international community to mitigate its worsening conditions.

They reaffirmed their commitment to close coordination between the two countries on various developments, with His Majesty expressing appreciation for Egypt's ongoing efforts, led by President El-Sisi, to reach a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza.

The leaders warned of the danger of continuing the war on Gaza and the violent acts perpetrated by extremist settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank, as well as violations against Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem.

They reiterated their rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, and attempts to separate them, warning of the serious consequences of any military operation in Rafah.

The leaders stressed the need to find a political horizon for the Palestinian issue to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with sovereignty along the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

They renewed their commitment, Jordan and Egypt, to stand by the Palestinian people in obtaining all their legitimate rights and supporting any steps that meet their aspirations.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Al-Khasawneh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, His Majesty's Office Director Dr. Jaafar Hassan, General Intelligence Director Major General Ahmad Husni, and Jordan's Ambassador to Cairo Amjad Al-Adayleh, along with the Egyptian delegation accompanying President El-Sisi.

His Majesty King Abdullah II and Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah hosted an Iftar banquet in honor of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Mrs. Intissar El-Sisi, and the accompanying delegation.

His Majesty and Her Majesty bid farewell to the Egyptian President and his spouse at Marka Airport on Monday upon their departure from Amman.
