“Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called on the Knesset to pass the “Al-Jazeera” law, which would grant the “Israel” government power to shut down foreign news networks - as reported by the “The Times of Israel”.

In a statement, Netanyahu’s Likud party says that Netanyahu spoke with parliamentary whip of the coalition Ofir Katz to ensure the bill’s passage in the second and third readings which are scheduled today.

Netanyahu vowed to “immediately act to close Al Jazeera” if the law goes through - as it will give the Prime Minister and the Communications Minister the authority to order the closure of foreign networks operating in “Israel” if it is believed that they pose “an actual harm [Israel’s] security.”
