An “Israeli” intelligence official, speaking to the New York Times, stated that most of Hamas' tunnel network remains intact despite intense aerial bombardment, ground battles, and the continuous artillery shelling.

The official added that thousands of Hamas fighters are still operating both above and below ground.

He pointed out that he believes at least 5,000 fighters are still in northern Gaza, which Defense Minister Yoav Gallant declared under control about two months after the aggression began.

The New York Times also reported on an official in the occupation government confirming a disagreement between members of the War Cabinet, Benny Gantz and Yoav Galant, on one side, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Gantz, on the other, regarding the start date of the Rafah offensive.

Meanwhile, Hebrew Channel 12 reported that the families of the captives closed a major street in Tel Aviv demanding an immediate deal to exchange prisoners.
