The United States has ramped up efforts to broker a ceasefire between the Israeli Occupation and Hamas ahead of an impending peace summit set to take place this weekend in Paris.

The summit will see key figures from each side in attendance: representing “Israel” will be David Barnea, the head of the Mossad, Ronen Bar, the head of the Shin Bet, and Major General Nitzan Alon.

On the Qatari front, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed Al Thani will be present, while representing the United States will be William Burns, The Central Intelligence Agency’s (CIA) Director.

The summit aims to establish a mutually agreed-upon general framework and address ancillary issues, sidestepping the contentious matters of territory sovereignty and ceasefire durations. An Israeli Occupation official expressed cautious optimism, acknowledging the challenging nature of the negotiations and the time it may require to reach consensus.
