A poll conducted by the Hebrew newspaper Maariv shows that the National Unity Party, led by Benny Gantz, is expected to secure 39 seats in the Knesset if elections were held.

Moreover, there seems to be a preference for Gantz as the leader of the Israeli occupation government in the event of elections, with 48 percent of "Israelis" seeing him as the most suitable for the position of prime minister, while 32 percent prefer Netanyahu.

This comes amid increasing support for this party and its leadership in recent times, making it the expected major electoral force in the country.

According to the poll, if elections were held, the ruling Likud party would only get 18 seats in the Knesset, a number that reflects a significant decline from the results of the previous elections.

As for other parties, the survey indicates that Bezalel Smotrich’s party is likely to fail to cross the electoral threshold, while Itamar Ben-Gvir is expected to increase his party's seats in the Knesset to 10 in the event of elections.

The poll suggests that the parties of the ruling coalition may lose their parliamentary majority if new elections are held in the country.
