“Israeli” Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich stated that there is divergence in viewpoints within the War Cabinet, as well as within the "Israeli" society regarding the war in the Gaza Strip.

Smotrich stated that there is only one way to retrieve the captives held by Hamas, which is by pressuring Hamas Chief in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar.

He emphasized the importance of retrieving the captives and eliminating the Hamas movement, stressing that one objective must not be achieved at the expense of another.

“Israeli” War Cabinet member Benny Gantz stated Wednesday that forthcoming military operation in Rafah would start “even during Ramadan,” adding that the “Israeli army must complete its military objectives in Gaza.”

Gantz added that relief aid would be transferred to Gaza through Arab countries with assurances that it would not reach the Hamas movement.

Regarding the ceasefire negotiations, Gantz said that there are attempts to reach an agreement for a prisoner exchange, and they will not hesitate at any opportunity to repatriate the captives.
