“Israeli” War Cabinet member Benny Gantz stated Wednesday that forthcoming military operation in Rafah would start “even during Ramadan,” adding that the “Israeli army must complete its military objectives in Gaza.”

Gantz added that relief aid would be transferred to Gaza through Arab countries with assurances that it would not reach the Hamas movement.

Regarding the ceasefire negotiations, Gantz said that there are attempts to reach an agreement for a prisoner exchange, and they will not hesitate at any opportunity to repatriate the captives.

Gantz expressed his gratitude for the United States for exercising their veto powers against an Algerian-proposed resolution in the United Nations Security Council demanding an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the Strip.

Regarding the skirmishes with Hezbollah on the Lebanese border, Gantz reiterated that operations in the North will continue until security is restored for the settlements’ residents.

He noted that there are preliminary signals that bolster the possibility of progress in the negotiation process leading to a new exchange deal.
