The "Times of Israel" newspaper quoted an American official as saying that President Joe Biden's administration is preparing to issue a second package of sanctions against extremist and violent "Israeli" settlers in the West Bank.

The Hebrew newspaper reported that the US administration has seriously considered including the Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, in the list of sanctions.

Earlier in February, the United States announced sanctions on a number of settlers accused of committing violent acts against Palestinians in the West Bank, according to American officials.

The officials, as reported by Agence France-Presse (AFP), explained that these sanctions come within the framework of a decree issued by President Joe Biden on Thursday.

The decision aims to punish individuals accused of committing attacks or "terrorist acts" or "undermining peace, stability, and security" in the occupied West Bank.
