Bloomberg quoted British officials as saying that their government is considering restricting some arms exports to the Israeli occupation if the latter launches an attack on the city of Rafah in southern Gaza.

The officials emphasized that the escalation of the occupation in Gaza without protecting civilians would constitute a violation of international law.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak reiterated earlier on Wednesday the need to increase aid to the Gaza Strip.

He stated that it is necessary to introduce more aid to Gaza to create conditions for a sustainable and genuine ceasefire in the sector.

He considered that it is not in anyone's interest to call for an immediate and complete cessation of hostilities in Gaza that collapses within days or weeks, as he said in a speech before the House of Commons.
