Palestinian prisoner institutions have urged for an independent international investigation into the crimes and attacks carried out by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) against Palestinian women prisoners and detainees.

This call comes in response to findings documented in a report released by a United Nations body.

The prisoner institutions have affirmed their documentation of the martyrdom of at least eight detainees inside Israeli Occupation prisons since October 7, along with the occupation's perpetration of enforced disappearance crimes against Gaza detainees.

The statement issued by the prisoner institutions said that the Israeli Occupation authorities have prevented the International Committee of the Red Cross and legal teams from visiting and assessing the conditions of their detention. This constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, enabling further covert crimes without any oversight.

The statement underscored that the majority of the systematic crimes documented and monitored since October 7 are established and systematic policies that the occupation has employed against detainees, both male and female, for decades. Moreover, it asserted that the Israeli Occupation's violations against detainees have escalated intensively and dangerously, reaching unprecedented levels after October 7.

Meanwhile, the United Nations body has documented serious violations, including sexual assaults, against Palestinian women, including detainees. It pointed out that at least two detainees from Gaza were subjected to rape, according to its report.

The statement also highlighted testimonies from male detainees regarding sexual assaults, brutal beatings, attempted rapes, and humiliating searches.
