Jordanians commemorate Veterans Day on February 15th each year, a solemn occasion dedicated to honoring the valor, sacrifices, and unwavering dedication of veterans and retired military personnel who have served the nation with distinction.

His Majesty King Abdullah II declared this day as a tribute to those who have served in the Jordanian Armed Forces, including the Arab Army and security apparatuses. These brave individuals have demonstrated exceptional courage and commitment, standing steadfast in defense of their homeland and nation.

The significance of February 15th lies in its connection to the Battle of the Seven Martyrs, a pivotal event preceding the historic Battle of Karameh, which profoundly influenced its course and outcomes. It was on this date that one of the nation's brave armed forces units displayed extraordinary heroism in 1968, setting a profound example of selflessness and determination.

Through their service on the walls of Jerusalem, Sheikh Jarrah, Latrun, Bab al-Wad, Karameh, the Golan Heights, and in various internal security operations, veterans have endured hardships and excelled with both their bodies and hearts.

In a message in 2012, His Majesty King Abdullah II emphasized the significance of this day, stating, "We have decided that the fifteenth of February each year shall be a day of tribute to veterans," reaffirming the nation's gratitude and respect for their sacrifices.
