The value of certificates of origin issued by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) for exporting goods to Arab and foreign countries during last January reached around JOD 108 million, compared to JOD 99 million for January, 2023.
The number of certificates of origin issued by the ACC was 1778 certificates, compared to 2350 certificates for the same period last year.
Certificates of origin were destined for several countries, notably Saudi Arabia with 245 certificates, followed by the UAE with 200, Iraq with 189, Egypt with 83, and Switzerland with 3 origin certificates.
Exports in terms of value were distributed to Iraq valued at JOD 61 million, the United Arab Emirates at JOD 10 million, Egypt around JOD 8 million, Saudi Arabia at JOD 6 million, and Switzerland valued at JOD 3 million.
Numbers revealed that the value of re-exported foreign products reached around JOD 66 million, industrial products JOD 16 million, agricultural products JOD 9 million, Arab products around JOD 7 million, and the rest for various other products.
The ACC issues certificates of origin for Jordanian agricultural, animal, and raw natural resources, as well as for foreign goods that are being re-exported and for foreign goods purchased from the local market under specified conditions.
Certificates of origin for Jordanian industrial products are also issued upon request by the exporter, based on the original factory invoice authenticated by an industrial chamber and an original and authenticated certificate of origin issued by an industrial chamber, proving that the goods are of Jordanian origin.
