NaiTel, a communications service provider in Jordan and The Egyptian Telecommunication Company signed an agreement to establish the “Coral Bridge” submarine cable.

This initiative signifies the first submarine cable connecting communications between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Arab Republic of Egypt in approximately 25 years.

The signing ceremony, attended by Dr. Amr Talaat, Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Jordan's Ambassador to Egypt, Amjad Al-Adailah, witnessed the formalization of the agreement by Engineer Mohamed Nasr, CEO of the Egyptian Telecommunication Company, and Engineer Eyad Abu Khorma, CEO and founder of NaiTel.

The Coral Bridge submarine cable, extending through the Gulf of Aqaba, will create a vital link connecting the Jordanian city of Aqaba to the Egyptian city of Taba. This ambitious project aims to establish a robust infrastructure network between the two nations.

Engineered with the technical specifications, the Coral Bridge cable offers competitive advantages, including a short distance between landing points and the capacity to accommodate a large number of optical fibers. This enables the aggregation and transmission of international traffic in the region, addressing the growing demands of artificial intelligence applications and data centers.

This significant collaboration aligns with both countries' commitment to technological advancement and regional cooperation. It reflects their shared vision for strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing the digital infrastructure landscape, setting the stage for increased regional connectivity and cooperation in the telecommunications sector.
