Thirteen people died in a fire that broke out Saturday in a school dormitory in Henan province in central China, as reported by the official Chinese news agency.
Emergency services quickly rushed to the scene, extinguishing the flames. The authorities have opened an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
In November, 26 people lost their lives, and dozens were hospitalized due to a fire in a coal production company building in the northern Shanxi province. In Beijing, a hospital fire in April claimed the lives of 29 people, marking one of the worst disasters to hit the capital in over two decades.
