Jordan's GDP sees 2.7% growth in third quarter

According to the quarterly report released by the Department of Statistics Sunday, the growth rate of the GDP at constant market prices from the beginning of the current year until the end of September was 2.7 percent, compared to the same period of 2022.

Regarding estimates of growth of different sectors, preliminary results showed that the majority of economic sectors experienced growth during the third quarter of 2023 compared to the same quarter in 2022.

The "Hotels and Restaurants" sector achieved the highest growth rate during this period at 6.3 percent, contributing 0.11 percentage points to the overall achieved growth rate of the GDP, followed by the "Transportation, Storage, and Communications" sector with a growth rate of 5.3 percent, contributing 0.44 percentage points.

"Agriculture, Hunting, Forestry, and Fishing" sector comes next with a growth rate of 5.1 percent, contributing 0.20 percentage points, followed by the "Manufacturing Industries" sector with a growth rate of 3.9 percent, contributing 0.73 percentage points to the achieved growth rate.
