Israeli Occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Tuesday that there is progress in the efforts to secure the release of individuals detained by Hamas during the October 7 attack.

Netanyahu, while inspecting a military base in the northern occupied Palestinian territories, elaborated, "We are making progress. I hope there will be positive news soon." Mediators between the Israeli Occupation government and Hamas have indicated that an agreement between the two parties is on the verge of being finalized.

Majid Al-Ansari, the Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman, confirmed that the negotiations facilitated by Qatar concerning the captives held by Hamas in Gaza have reached the "closest point" to reaching an agreement since the commencement of the conflict on October 7.

During a press conference in Doha on Tuesday, Al-Ansari stated, "The mediation has reached a critical and final stage and has addressed fundamental and pivotal issues. The remaining issues are limited, signifying that we are at the closest point to reaching an agreement since the onset of this crisis."

He further added, "We maintain optimism and hopefulness. However, we are also earnestly desiring the success of this mediation in achieving a humanitarian truce."
