WHO team to evacuate 32 children in Shifa Hospital NICU: Zqout

The Director-General of Hospitals in the Gaza Strip, Mohammed Zqout, stated that a team from the World Health Organization (WHO) will head to Al-Shifa Hospital to evacuate 32 children from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

He added that four children were killed out of a total of 36 children in the NICU at the Shifa Medical Complex.

The WHO reported that the hospital in northern Gaza is no longer able to function, lacking water, food, electricity and fuel, with medical supplies depleted.

The organization stated that the hospital staff has requested support to evacuate patients who can no longer receive life-saving care at the hospital.

The current situation is unbearable and cannot be justified, urging an immediate cessation of fire and the protection of health facilities and civilians.
