The Prosecutor General of the Grand Criminal Court has filed intentional homicide charges against the man who fatally shot his sister in Southern Jordan Valley. He discharged 15 rounds into her body from a firearm he possessed.
The Public Prosecutor has detained the accused, the sister's brother, for 15 days, subject to renewal, at the Rehabilitation and Correction Center.
This action followed a referral from the Public Prosecutor of the Southern Jordan Valley to the specialized Grand Criminal Court for such cases.
A source close to the investigation stated that the 21-year-old brother of the deceased confessed during interrogations before the Public Prosecutor to the killing of his sister shortly after her arrival at their family home.
Earlier, a source familiar with the investigation revealed to Roya that the deceased had been removed from a safe house designated for abused and needy women following her administrative detention.
This was in connection with suspicions of her giving birth to an illegitimate child after an infant was found near Karak Castle in August of the previous year.
Upon her return, released under a pledge from the administrative governor, he tragically ambushed her, firing the fatal shots.
Despite prior assurances from the family that the victim would be safe from harm, her brother arrived at the residence two hours after her return and carried out the tragic act.
The Prosecutor General of the Southern Jordan Valley has ordered the body to be transferred to a forensic medicine center, which confirmed the presence of fractures in the skull, cerebral lacerations, as well as injuries to the chest and abdomen, caused by 15 gunshot wounds from various directions.
