The Italian government, through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), has launched a program to enhance the living conditions of people with disabilities affected by the Syrian crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic in the municipalities of Wadi Musa and Petra.

This initiative, implemented in collaboration with the Italian NGO "Terre des Hommes," provided training to 48 participants. They received instruction in a range of communication skills crucial for entering the job market, along with technical proficiency tailored for the cleaning industry.

In its initial phase, the project opened doors for 23 individuals in fields related to the cleaning, hospitality, and healthcare sectors.

Since 2003, "Terre des Hommes" has been actively involved in Jordan, and in 2021, they launched their inaugural project in the southern region of Petra. This project, conducted in partnership with the Petra Association for Special Education, is dedicated to fostering economic empowerment among people with disabilities.
