First day of national earthquake drill 'Safety Path 3' ends

The activities of the national earthquake drill 'Safety Path 3', implemented by the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, began on Monday and is scheduled to last for two days, to determine the readiness of public and private institutions to deal with earthquakes and their repercussions.

The Director of the Media Response Unit at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, Ahmed Al-Naimat, revealed that the results of the 'Safety Path 3' drill will be announced at the beginning of next October.

Naimat told Roya on Monday that the results of drill on its first day were positive, and witnessed great harmony between the private sector, crisis management, and relevant parties.

He added that 80 facilities from the private sector were expected to participate in the exercise, but it exceeded 100 facilities, and the number of participating schools exceeded 180 schools, while 80 schools were expected to participate.

He praised the performance of the Public Security Directorate during the exercise in reaching the area where the earthquake was supposed to occur, as the response was higher than global rates at a rate of one minute and three seconds.
