Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns extremist actions in Aqsa Mosque

Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the recent actions of extremists who stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF).

The ministry’s spokesperson, Ambassador Sinan Majali, said that this provocative behavior not only violates the historical and legal status quo of the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem but also desecrates the sanctity of this holy site.

Majali also called upon the IOF to immediately cease all such practices and violations against the Aqsa Mosque and to show due respect for its sanctity.

He emphasized the grave consequences of continuing such violations and stressed the importance of respecting the authority of the Islamic Waqf, which manages the mosque's affairs.

The ministry reiterated that the entire 144 dunums of Al-Aqsa Mosque are a pure place of worship for Muslims and that the Jerusalem Waqf Department, affiliated to the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites, is the only authority entitled, with exclusive jurisdiction, to manage the mosque's affairs and access to it.
