A total of 11 people, mostly children, were injured Thursday after a vehicle overturned on the Zarqa-Mafraq highway, according to the Highway Patrol Department.

Civil defense teams rushed to the scene of the accident.

The injured were transferred to a hospital to receive the necessary treatment.

Earlier Thursday, a bus carrying 17 passengers overturned on the Zarqa-Mafraq highway, according to a security source.

The source confirmed that five injured individuals were transported to the King Talal Military Hospital.

Their conditions were described as moderate.

Investigations have been initiated to determine the circumstances of the incident.
