The Hashemite Charity Organization dispatched a humanitarian aid plane to Libya in response to the floods caused by the Daniel storm following the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II.

The organization stated in a statement on Wednesday that this was done in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and the Jordanian Armed Forces.

It added that the first plane carries emergency relief materials consisting of tents, blankets, mattresses, and food parcels.

The organization pointed out that coordination has been made with relevant authorities in Libya to deliver and distribute these supplies to all affected areas by the storm and the areas hit by the floods.

Hurricane Daniel made landfall in eastern Libya Sunday afternoon where curfews were declared and schools were closed.

Experts have described the storm, which also impacted parts of Greece, Turkey, and Bulgaria in recent days, as "extremely severe" in terms of the volume of rainfall within a 24-hour period.
