A perpetrator who killed a man in the Shmeisani area was arrested by security services on Tuesday evening, according to the spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD).

The spokesperson said that a few days ago, relevant authorities received information regarding a seventy-year-old Arab national who had lost contact with his family. An immediate response was made to his residence in the Shmeisani area, where his body was found inside his apartment, having suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Additionally, his vehicle, phone, and personal belongings were stolen. 

On the evening of the following day, another Arab individual was shot by an unknown assailant while he was in front of his house in the Marka area. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

The spokesperson affirmed that the investigation team collected evidence and managed to link both cases to one perpetrator. His identity was determined, and a search for him was initiated. His location was confirmed, and he was arrested. The weapon used in both cases was also seized.

During questioning, he confessed to committing both crimes, stating that he committed the first crime out of theft motives. The following day, he went to the Marka area and waited for the other person in front of his house, shooting him due to previous disputes between them. He also stole the personal belongings the victim had on him.

The case will be referred to the Public Prosecutor of the Grand Criminal Court.
